Pixel Defender is a game for iPhone and iPad made by grAppe. This policy explains what the game collects, why, and who it's shared with, in plain language.
Your player identity. When the game starts, it signs you in without showing any screen. If your device is already signed in to Apple Game Center, the game uses that account and its nickname. Otherwise it creates an anonymous account. Either way, Google Firebase gives us a random account ID. We never receive your real name, email or contact details.
Scores. When a run ends, it is sent to our score boards: the score, the wave and sector you reached, how long you played, the ship you flew, solo or co-op, and the app version, with your account ID and your Game Center nickname (or "Anonymous"). The boards aren't shown in the game yet; once they are, other players will see your nickname and score.
Approximate location. To place a score on city, region, country and continent boards, the game asks ipapi.co, once per session, which city, region and country your IP address belongs to. We keep only those place names with your score, never your IP address. The game never uses GPS and never asks for location permission.
Play statistics. To see which waves are too hard and which cards nobody picks, the game records how runs go: for each run, wave and break between waves, things like the difficulty, your ship, the cards and items you chose, the damage taken and how the run ended; for each time you open the app, the device model, iOS version, language and region setting, time zone and how long you played. These records carry your account ID and a random install ID kept on your device, never your name or nickname.
On your device only. Your progress (gold, unlocks, best scores, settings and a run you can resume) is stored on your device and never sent to us.
Co-op connects two nearby devices directly, over the local network, using Apple's peer-to-peer networking or your Wi-Fi. iOS asks for your permission the first time. The game data passed between the two devices doesn't go through our servers.
In the game, open SETTINGS and tap DELETE next to MY DATA (you need to be online). It removes your scores and play statistics from our servers. Your progress on the device stays. You can also email us and we'll delete it for you.
The game relies on a small number of services, each handling data under its own privacy policy:
Scores and play statistics are stored on Google Firebase servers in the European Union.
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time; the "last updated" date above will reflect any change.
